The idea

In much of Spain, you will hear he comido for events connected to now.

Hoy he comido fuera means I have eaten out today. Regional habits vary; listen for this common pattern.

Start with he + an action.

Build many participles with -ado or -ido.

Comprar → comprado. Comer → comido. Salir → salido. Some are irregular: hacer → hecho; ver → visto.

He + participle lets you talk about experiences and what has happened up to now.

¿Has probado la horchata? Sí, la he probado. The participle stays the same after he and has.
