The pattern

From 31 onward, use “y” between the tens and the final number.

Treinta y dos is 32. Cuarenta y cinco is 45. Cincuenta y nueve is 59.

Decimal prices

Spanish speakers often say “con” for the cents.

Cinco con cincuenta means €5.50. You may also hear cinco euros con cincuenta.
